~ What You Mean To Me ~

There is so much in my heart,
that I'd like to share with you,
for in this poem that I write,
that is what I will try to do.

You've all come to mean so much to me,
with all our daily sends,
how many lives we touch each day,
not knowing where or when.

We all come from different places,
some far and some so near,
never meeting face to face,
yet I hold you all so dear.

I want to thank you all so much,
for the gift you've given me,
for the friends that I have made
and all the love that I can see.

I want to thank you for your talents,
for all the pics and tags you make,
they put a smile on my face,
and brighten up my day!

I love you all so very much,
please know this from my heart,
I'm thankful for you everyday,
and hope we never part.

Political Philosophies Explained in Simple Two-Cow Terms:

SOCIALISM You have two cows. You keep one and give one to your neighbor.

COMMUNISM You have two cows. The government takes them both and provides you with milk.

FASCISM You have two cows. The government takes them and sells you the milk.

BUREAUCRACY You have two cows. The government takes them both, shoots one, milks the other, pays you for the milk, and then pours it down the drain.

CAPITALISM You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull.

CORPORATE You have two cows. You sell one, force the other to produce the milk of four cows, then act surprised when it drops dead.

DEMOCRACY You have two cows. The government taxes you to the point that you must sell them both in order to pay the taxes to support a man in a foreign country who has only one cow which was a gift from your government.

THE WILL OF GOD

The will of God will never take you,
Where the grace of God cannot keep you,
Where the arms of God cannot support you,
Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs,
Where the power of God cannot endow you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the spirit of God cannot work through you,
Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you,
Where the army of God cannot protect you,
Where the hands of God cannot mold you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the love of God cannot enfold you,
Where the mercies of God cannot sustain you,
Where the peace of God cannot calm your fears,
Where the authority of God cannot overrule for you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears,
Where the Word of God cannot feed you,
Where the miracles of God cannot be done for you,
Where the omnipresence of God cannot find you.

Real wealth is measured
by how many people
are better off because
you have lived..

The Cold Within

Six humans trapped by happenstance
In a dark and bitter cold;
Each one possessed a stick of wood,
Or so the story's told

Their dying fire in need of logs,
The first woman held hers back,
For on the faces around the fire,
She noticed one was black.

The next man looking cross the way
Saw one not of his church,
And couldn't bring himself to give
The fire his stick of birch.

The third one sat in tattered clothes;
He gave his coat a hitch.
Why should his log be put to use
To warm the idle rich?

The rich man just sat back and thought
Of the wealth he had in store,
And how to keep what he had earned
From the lazy, shiftless poor.

The black man's face bespoke revenge
As the fire passed from sight,
For all he saw in his stick of wood
Was a chance to spite the white.

The last man of this forlorn group
Did naught except for gain,
Giving only to those who gave
Was how he played the game.

The logs held tight in death's still hands
Was proof of human sin.
They didn't die from the cold without,
They died from - THE COLD WITHIN.

>> > A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly
>> > his room filled with light, and the Lord appeared.
>> >
>> > The Lord told the man he had work for him to do, and
>> > showed him a large rock in front of his cabin.

>> > The Lord explained that the man was to push against
>> > the rock with all his might.

>> > So, this the man did; day after day. For many years he
>> > toiled from sun up to sun down; his shoulders set
>> > squarely against the cold, massive surface of the
>> > unmoving rock, pushing with all his might.

>> > Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn
>> > out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain.

>> > Since the man was showing signs of discouragement,
>> > Satan decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts
>> > into the man's weary mind:

>> > "You have been pushing against that rock for a long
>> > time, and it hasn't budged. Why kill yourself over
>> > this?

>> > You are never going to move it." Thus, giving the man
>> > the impression that the task was impossible and that
>> > he was a failure.

>> > These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man.
>> > "Why kill myself over this?" he thought. "I'll just
>> > put in my time, giving just the minimum effort; and
>> > that will be good enough."

>> > And that is what he planned to do, until one day
>> > he decided to make it a matter of prayer and take his
>> > troubled thoughts to the Lord.

>> > "Lord," he said, I have labored long and hard in your
>> > service, putting all my strength to do that which you
>> > have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even
>> > budged that rock by half a millimeter. What is wrong?
>> > Why am I failing?" The Lord responded compassionately,

>> > "My friend, when I asked you to serve me and you
>> > accepted I told you that your task was to push against
>> > the rock with all your strength, which you have done.

>> > Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to
>> > move it. Your task was to push.

>> > And now you come to me with your strength spent,
>> > thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so?

>> > Look at yourself. . . Your arms are strong and
>> > muscled, your back sinewy and brown, your hands are
>> > callused from constant pressure, and your legs have
>> > become massive and hard.

>> > Through opposition you have grown much, and you have
>> > now surpassed that which you used to have.

>> > Yet you haven't moved the rock. But your calling was
>> > to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith
>> > and trust in my wisdom.

>> > This you have done. Now I, my friend, will move the
>> > rock."

>> > At times, when we hear a word from God, we tend to use
>> > our own intellect to decipher what He wants, when
>> > actually what God wants is just simple obedience and
>> > faith in Him...

>> > By all means, exercise the faith that moves mountains,
>> > but know that it is still God who moves the mountains.

> > Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the
> > road together. For much of the way, the Lord's
> > footprints go along steadily, consistently,
> > rarely varying the pace. But your footprints are a
> > disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops,
> > turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns.
> > For much of the way, it seems to go like this, but
> > gradually your footprints come more in line with the
> > Lord's, soon paralleling His consistently. You
> > and Jesus are walking as true friends! This seems
> > perfect, but then an interesting thing happens: Your
> > footprints that once etched the sand next
> > to Jesus' are now walking precisely in His steps.
> > Inside His larger footprints are your smaller ones,
> > you and Jesus are becoming one.

> > This goes on for many miles, but gradually you notice
> > another change.. The footprints inside the large
> > footprints seem to grow larger. Eventually they
> > disappear altogether. There is only one set of
> > footprints they have become one.

> > This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second
> > set of footprints is back. This time it seems even
> > worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops. Starts.
> > Gashes in the sand. A variable mess of prints. You are
> > amazed and shocked. Your dream ends.

> > Now you pray:
> > "Lord, I understand the first scene with zigzags and
> > fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning. But
> > you walked on through the storm and helped me learn
> > to walk with you."

> > "That is correct."
> > "...And when the smaller footprints were inside of
> > Yours, I was actually learning to walk in Your steps;
> > followed you very closely."

> > "Very good. You have understood everything so far."
> > "...When the smaller footprints grew and filled in
> > Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like you in
> > every way."

> > "Precisely."
> > "So, Lord, was there a regression or something? The
> > footprints separated, and this time it was worse
> > than at first."

> > There is a pause as the Lord answers with a smile in his voice.

> > "You didn't know? That was when we danced.
> > " To Everything there is a season, a time for every
> > purpose under heaven: A time to weep, a time to
> > laugh, A time to mourn, and a time to dance.
> > Ecclesiastes 3:1,4.
